A Few of These Snuck up on Me

You know, when I wasn’t looking.

What to do before SushiWere Yoko’s not quite so small, I might have never noticed C-bar.  I think it might not be the best destination bar ever, but as somewhere to have a drink while you’re waiting, it’s wonderful.  If I lived closer by, I might bring my laptop down there to work.

I did write a review for the Moon and Sixpence, but sadly, this doesn’t seem to be my copy.

What I didn’t mention in my review of the Hawthorne Cafe is that is a wonderful place to watch and play the “who got laid” game.  So is the Cricket.

I’ve been very lax

about getting links to my reviews posted, lately. Tonight that ends!

Fuck the Packers, but you must respect themAs usual I have someone else to thank for getting me out to the Mississippi Pizza Pub, since I don’t often go north of Belmont unless there’s a good reason. They’re had several musical acts there that I’ve wanted to see, so that’s a pretty good reason.

The Jolly Roger is the closest place to catch all the games, unless of course, the Brooklyn Pub gets NFL ticket this year. I know I can count on the JR, tho. It’s one of those places with a pile of TVs. I’ve watched a Broncos Game or two w/ Marsha there. It’s much nicer than Claudia’s. You can imagine, as a Vikings fan, I don’t want to walk into a bar that looks like Christmas in Madison to watch my Purple and Gold. Not the last few years anyhow….

Sites Up - One More in Progress

Filed under: Media, housekeeing, websites — sillydog at 12:05 am on Saturday, June 23, 2007

Sons of AsgardI’ve got Matt’s sites up, though I need to fix one of the pages on one and add content on another.

The first is Meet the Greys — think of it as My 3 Aliens but, w/ cheese. The other is the one I prefer, but since they’re selling it to Hollywood, all the cool aspects of the story will undoubtedly be gone in the final product if there ever is a cartoon of it. It’s called Sons of Asgard, and it’s the complicated backstory as to why Thor always kept trusting Loki when they got to be grown up gods by telling the story of their shared youth. They’re also joined by Sif who is righteously bad azz as the girl that keeps it all together when things get really hairy.

For Kristin’s site and in an effort to just get generally better, I’m trying to get a become a bit more adept with the Flash, so I’m putting slideshows together for her with content she’s writing. It’ll be slick, but it’s a lengthy process unless you’re very adept, indeed. I’m getting there, hopefully. It would be nice to spend more time on actual design rather than just bumbling around and figuring out what I even can do.

Busy Month, I Guess

Now that I’ve pretty much been writing as a profession, I’ve been rather busy. I actually did these about a month ago, but it takes a while to get up on the site, and then, well, I’ve been writing a bunch and sometimes procrastinating a bit.
I’ve done a few more reviews for wCities. The first one is Crush — a place that Theresa Pictures of our adventures on Mt. Hoodfirst took me to, though I’d heard of it before. It’s freakin’ nice, but like most places, happy hour is the time to go, as their HH menu is actually what I’d call rather complete.
Bocci’s on 7th openend up just a few blocks from out house and though in an odd location, seem to have a rather large porch. I don’t think they’ll be around for a long time, though they do have free WiFi and ample outlets.

I really enjoy the heck of of the Clinton Corner Cafe, and would go there all the time if I had a better laptop. Though, I’m about to, so maybe I will.

On the Way to the Farm, I Got Distracted

Filed under: Media, Photography, Documentary, housekeeing, websites — sillydog at 5:11 pm on Thursday, June 14, 2007

I’m making a website for Matt. You know, for Xmas. I’m also working on one that I’m doing in trade for some real lessons and lighting help in a studio situation. More on Matt’s studio session later when I finally have time to go through the pics.

In the meanwhile, I’m just helping him get ready for the Licensing Expo Show in New York. He leaves tomorrow and will be gone nearly 3 weeks. Yikes! He’s a migrant worker in LA. Well, I suppose most everyone is.
Well, I’ll let you know how they come out when I’m done, but in the meanwhile, I’m finding a few little apps here and there that are new, at least to me, since I last did major overhauling work on my own site. Perhaps it’s time for an update - especially w/ the photos section.

Well, here goes w/ a new slideshow app - it’s my set of pictures of agriculture, horticulture, silviculture and all the rest of the -ultures that in the end, are all ag to me.
